12:30-1:00pm - Advanced Purple and Navy - Ballet (age 9-13)

Attendance at all SATURDAY classes from January is essential to learn the routines

What will the day look like?

Organise your travel and leave enough time to get there early – please do not be late as we only have one rehearsal slot.

8:45am ARRIVE at the stage door with hair and make-up done.  Please arrive wearing clean trainers, dance leotard and a tracksuit with a zip up hood (to avoid spoiling hair and make-up).

12:00 – 2:30pm  – LUNCH.  We will be booking Pizza Express for midday in Oxford.  Please can each child bring £10 with them and hand it to Annie when you arrive and let her know of any allergies or dietary requirements.

If you would like to go out with your child for lunch instead, please can you let us know in advance and we can meet you at midday at the stage door. You need to be back to the theatre stage door by 2:30pm at the latest.

DINNER: pack lunch dinner

6:30-9pm Show time

At the end:  Meet us opposite the stage door on the corner after the performance.  Please SIGN OUT with Annie or Miss Jill before you go.  Only parents may sign a chid out unless otherwise authorised to do so.

Hair/make-up

Hair – ballet bun with or without a donut depending on thickness of hair.  Please use lots of bun pins, hair gel and a hair net.  Please pack additional hair stuff in bag just in case we need to tidy hair up through the day.  There are lots of tutorials for these buns on YouTube if you are not familiar.

Make up – as a team we would like the girls to be same: white & brown eyeshadow, black mascara, optional eyeliner, pink blusher and red lipstick. Please place additional makeup & wet wipes in performers bag. It is made clear to the girls this is not a beauty pageant, but the lights are strong and without makeup you cannot see their facial features and smiles from the stage.  Again, YouTube has many tutorials on stage make up.

Costumes

Costumes to go out on:  1st March 2025 - please bring a named bag.

I believe:  Pink tights with no holes, pink ballet shoes with elastics, white underwear and red tutus. A spare pair of tights in their bag.

What a feeling: Theses girls know what they are bringing.

Finale:  Black leggings and black t-shirt, black socks and black school shoes/jazz shoes/trainers

Costumes to come back on: 22nd March 2025 (damage to costumes, loss of costume and failure to return by this date will result in additional charges)

Items to bring (NAME EVERYTHING):

  • Your tickets for the show if you're watching.

  • Snacks and drink - NOT NUTS!! Don't forget to bring plenty of food and drink but remember to ensure dancers don't bring anything containing nuts.  We have quite a few children in the cast with a nut allergy (this includes muesli bars and Nutella).

  • A packed dinner for later in the day.

  • Spare hair bits, make-up and wet wipes for touch ups.

  • Costumes on hangers with plastic bags around to protect them.

  • £10 for lunch at Pizza Express (as above).

Remember your child needs to be able to carry her own things… Consider a SMALL wheelie bag for little ones with a lunchbox carried separately.
